NEWS AND UPDATES FOR THE MEMORIAL
1. Mt. Park will open Thrusday, May 23rd from 6:00pm
until 10:00pm for early parking and some open Time Runs. These Open Time
Runs are strictly for DRAG SLICKS ONLY so only "good rubber" goes down.
Open Time Runs will be from 7:00pm until Dusk which is approximately
9:00pm, cost will be $5/car to pay the track workers & EMTs. Gates will
not open before 6:00 and the track will be secured after 10:00 so no
early or late arrivals please.
2. A $100 bonus has been added for the #1 Qualifiers
in both Q-8 Doorcars and Q-8 Dragsters. Remember, this is a Dial-In Q-8
but Doorcars must dial 4.99 or quicker and Dragsters must dial 4.39 or
quicker, the quickest 8 Dragsters and Doorcars will be in the field even
if they don't run those min. dials during qualifying. Racers don't have
to dial within .1 of their Qualifying as some races require just so they
dial the min. or under. Sportsman ladder will be used for pairings.
Start will be .5 full tree.
3. MPD in cooperation with the ULTIMATE 64 SHOOTOUT have
added a "Race into the Ultimate" for Sunday, May 26. This bonus race
will be contested on Sunday as soon as all the 32 entries in this
special race have been
eliminated from the $5,000-Win Delay Box Race and the advertised
consolation race that begins after 3rd round of the main event. The
field will be set at the first 32 entries. Racers may purchase their
entry into the "Race into the Ultimate" by phoning Randy Helton at (513)
464-2253 (have your credit card ready) or you can enter during all times
the Front Gate is open during the Memorial Classic from early parking on
Thursday and on. Entry is $80 Car & Driver, Winner gets a free entry
into the 64 car field of the Ultimate 64 $50,000-Win Main Event ($1500
Value), Runner-Up get a free entry into one of the 32 car $5,000-Win
races contested on Friday, June 7 ($500 Value), Semi finalist receive
$100. It's 5 Rounds To A Chance At 50K!
4. Contingency Connection Prize Packages will be awarded to all Top ET
and Modified Winners during the Memorial Classic. These Prize Packages
contain $2,000 worth of Product Certificates good towards your next
purchase from the manufacturer. In addition each Top ET & Modified
winner will get a $100 gift certificate from Bully Dog Performance.
5. If we have time for 3 Time Runs Friday we will contest a "Run For The
Mulligan" for that day's $2,000-Win Race. Those that want to run for the
Mulligan in Top ET and Modified will be called to the lanes separately
from those that don't. Those that want to run for the Mulligan must
bring $10 to the lanes when called and dial in their car. The racer
closest to the dial without going under wins. In the event of a tie
we'll go to reaction times. Winner of the Mulligan may use it any round
until Qtr. Finals or 8 cars left. The Mulligan must be used as a buyback
6. Chip Bralley, IHRA and NHRA Divisional and National
Event Photographer will be on hand during the event. Chip will be parked
inside Lane 1. No other photographers will be permitted.
7. There are approximately 8 parking spots with 20 amp
electric service which aren't currently rented annually. Some are
against the pit side fence, others are on the Tower side behind the
bleachers. These parking spots will be available to racers who want
electric for $10/day ($30 weekend). All rented spots are reserved for
this event however there is no reserved parking for some events such as
the Ultimate 64. During these few events the $10/day charge does apply.
8. Steve Poynter will make the trip from Indiana to
announce the Memorial Classic. Track Radio Station is 90.7 FM.
